📦 How to Add and Install XIX Files
What is a XIX File?
A .xix file is a JSON-formatted repository file that contains:
- Repository name and description
- List of apps with their details
- App icons, download links, and metadata
It's designed specifically for jailbreak app management with an optimized structure. See the XIX File Format section below for technical details.
Method 1: Browse Pre-Configured Repositories
The application comes with pre-loaded repositories accessible through the repository pages:
- Visit Repository Pages
- Navigate to xixtract.com/repos pages
- Browse through different repository collections (18 pages total)
- Each page contains 20-30 curated repositories
- Pages range from 1 to 18 with various categories
- Download Repository Files
- Click "Download" button on any repository card
- The `.xix` file will download to your device
- File is saved to your Downloads folder (or Files app on iOS)
- Install in XIXtract
- Open XIXtract web app in your browser
- Go to the "Repos" tab (first tab)
- Click "Browse .xix Files" button
- Select the downloaded `.xix` file(s) from your device
- The repository will be added automatically
- Apps from the repository will appear in the "Apps" tab
Method 2: Add Custom XIX Files
- Get a XIX File
- Obtain a `.xix` file from a repository provider
- Or create your own using the admin XIX Creator tool (see below)
- Ensure the file is valid JSON format with `.xix` extension
- Import the File
- Open XIXtract web application in your browser
- Click on the "Repos" tab (bottom navigation)
- Click "Browse .xix Files" button
- Select one or multiple `.xix` files from your device
- Files are processed automatically
- You can also drag and drop `.xix` files directly onto the page
- Verify Installation
- The repository should appear in the "Repositories" list
- Repository name and app count will be displayed
- Click on repository name to expand and see apps
- Apps will be available in the "Apps" tab for browsing

For desktop users, you can drag and drop XIX files directly:
- Prepare XIX Files
- Have `.xix` files ready on your computer
- Files can be in any folder
- Drag and Drop
- Open XIXtract in your browser
- Navigate to the "Repos" tab
- Drag `.xix` files from your file manager
- Drop them anywhere on the main content area
- Files will be automatically imported
- Multiple Files
- You can drag multiple files at once
- All files will be processed in batch
- Each repository will be added separately

Complete Installation Process
Step 1: Add Repository
- Open XIXtract in your browser
- Click "Repos" tab (bottom navigation)
- Click "Browse .xix Files" button
- Select `.xix` file(s) from your iPhone Files app
- Repository is automatically added
Step 2: Browse Apps
- Click "Apps" tab to view all apps
- Or click repository name in "Repos" tab to expand
- Browse apps within that repository

- Find the downloaded app file (.ipa)
- Tap the file to install

View All Repositories:
- All added repositories appear in the left sidebar
- Tap repository name to expand/collapse
